Origin Yoga

POWER PRESENCE PEACE

Origin Yoga classes strengthen and stabilize the physical body, and promotes vitality, relaxation and peace of mind. Yoga means “union” in Sanskrit, and in short, is an ancient Indian practice that explores and develops the connection of mind, body and spirit. Yoga is a journey of self-exploration and discovery, designed to be not just a physical “asana” practice, but a way of life.

Yoga Class Descriptions

Yoga Sculpt: A powerful full body workout that combines light hand weights with yoga postures to increase strength, improve flexibility, and build endurance. Sculpt classes are set to energizing music and designed to tone and sculpt every major muscle group. This class complements your regular yoga practice while boosting your metabolism and pushing your strength and flexibility to new heights. A challenging and rewarding class, be prepared to push your limits and sweat! Some prior yoga experience required.

Warm Yoga Fusion: Inspired by the traditional hot yoga series, this class is gently heated (not hot), allowing for deeper opening within the body. Elements of flow are included, in addition to longer holds in postures. This is a slower paced, alignment based class that is both challenging and restorative.

Yin Yoga: Invites you to slow down and create space for stillness while opening of the fascial layer of the body. Fascia is the connective tissue (shrink wrap) that underlies the skin, wraps the muscles, and holds the bones together. It is the conduit for the meridians of the body through which energy flows. Over time chronic tightness of this layer causes stiffness, restricting mobility and energy flow. Fascia responds differently than muscle and requires this slow approach to facilitate opening. This is a deeply meditative practice. No prior yoga experience required.

Deep Stretch + Release: Incorporates deep passive and active stretching, Yin yoga, and elements of self-myofascial release using tennis balls, foam rollers and other props, targeting the connective tissues and fascia of the body. Postures are held for 3 to 5 minutes to achieve more flexibility in the joints and connective tissue. A calming and balancing addition suitable for all lifestyles.
